上海市儿童基金会成立于1981年5月，是上海最早成立的儿童公募基金会（慈善组织）。2016年，经市民政局评定为5A级社团组织。

         本基金会的宗旨：守护儿童健康、关爱儿童成长、助飞儿童梦想。坚持“一切为了孩子，为了孩子的一切”的原则，为儿童办实事、作表率，促进本市儿童事业的蓬勃发展。

成立四十年来，相继建立“文化专项基金”“上海银行童享美好专项基金”“新东苑儿童爱心专项基金”“法苑天平儿童专项基金”“龙宇爱心专项基金”“阿波罗儿童专项基金”“玉佛禅寺觉群专项基金”“妙逸康小儿推拿专项基金”“儿童原创音乐文化艺术发展基金”“星禾特殊儿童专项基金”“阳光育人专项基金”“智善专项基金”“人工智能、航空･无人机专项基金”“来伊份童食健康专项基金”“外联幸福童缘专项基金”“追光少年近视防控专项基金”“远山∙守望中西部地区妇女儿童帮扶专项基金”“国泰君安儿童友好城市建设专项基金”“你好小朋友专项基金”“幸福艺+1孤独症儿童关爱专项基金”“青少年科普创新教育促进专项基金”“耀华青少年保护专项基金”22个专项基金。

近年来基金会先后获得“中国儿童慈善奖”“全国维护妇女儿童权益先进集体”“上海市三八红旗集体”“上海市未成年人暑期工作优秀活动项目奖”“全国巾帼建功先进集体”“第一届上海慈善奖”等荣誉称号。

Founded in May 1981, Shanghai Children's Foundation (SCF) is the earliest public foundation (charitable organization) for children in Shanghai. In 2016, it was rated as a 5A social organization by the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau.

Since its establishment 40 years ago, 22 special funds have been created. The purpose of SCF is to protect children's health, care for children's growth, and support children’s ideals. Adhering to the principle of "everything for children, for children’s everything", the foundation does practical things and sets an example for children, to promote the vigorous development of children's cause in Shanghai.
